I work with several types of metals, either separately, or blended together. They vary from sterling silver, to copper, to brass, or to a combination of all three together in a process called "marriage of metals."
Some pieces are hand cut using a saw, and soldered, sanded, and shaped, while others are created from metal clay. Each process allows me to create in different ways, and each has its own set of challenges.
Once the piece is complete, I have to decide if it should be embellished with a patina finish, or left in its "natural" state.
There are an endless number of ways to work with metal and, I confess, I am still in a learning mode as I continue to develop my skills. I have been fortunate to learn from some of the best instructors along the way.
